2020 Eighth Circuit Judicial Conference

Wednesday, June 10, 2020

To our Colleagues in the Nebraska Bar:

Federal judges from throughout the Eighth Circuit looked forward to meeting with members of the bar in Omaha this August to celebrate the centennial of the Nineteenth Amendment and corresponding themes of diversity, inclusion, and representative government. We eagerly anticipated presentations from nationally renowned champions of human rights. Recent events, raising public awareness of deep-seated social injustices, made the themes of the conference even more timely. Yet the pandemic has forced us to cancel the event. The judges of the District of Nebraska extend their deepest gratitude to the members of the bar for their support of the conference, and for their perseverance in making our society more gentle and more just.

Laurie Smith Camp
Senior U.S. District Judge
Conference Chair
