CLE Opportunity: Federal Criminal Defense Seminar

The Federal Public Defender's Office announces a Federal Criminal Defense CLE Seminar on September 26 and 27 at the Lied Lodge in Nebraska City, sponsored by the Federal Practice Committee of the United States District Court and the Nebraska State Bar Association.  The seminar will fulfill an entire year's CLE requirement of 10 hours,  including 2 hours of Ethics/Professional Responsibility.  The agenda can be found on the court's Web page at

The $66.00 registration fee includes seminar, materials, continental breakfast and lunch in general session room on September 26, and breakfast in general session room on September 27.  An optional evening dinner banquet ($30.00) will take place on September 26, preceded by a social hour with a cash bar.

Lied Lodge has a block of rooms available to attendees who want to stay overnight.  A single occupancy room is $77.00 plus applicable tax per night; a double occupancy room is $87.00 plus applicable tax per night.  Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. and check-out time is 11:00 a.m.  Rooms occupied beyond check-out time are subject to the day rate until 3:00 p.m., after which the full rate will apply.  Reservations must be made by August 25, after which any unreserved rooms will be released.  Reservation requests received after the cutoff date will be accepted and confirmed upon availability.

Attendees should call (800) 546-5433 to reserve a room, asking for "CLE Panel" reservations.  A credit card number will be needed to hold the room.

Attendees who reserve a room are automatically registered for the seminar.  Attendees who will not be reserving a room must call John Cambridge at (402) 221-7849 or e-mail him at to register and to arrange payment.
