IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF NEBRASKA IN THE MATTER OF ) AUTHORIZING THE DEPOSIT OF ) CERTAIN COURT RECORDS IN THE ) FEDERAL RECORDS CENTER AT )GENERAL ORDER 96- 02 KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI ) ) ) It appearing to the court that it is no longer necessary to the conduct of current business of the court for the files listed following to be physically retained in the office of the clerk of this court at Omaha, Nebraska, namely: 1. All closed civil cases filed in the series number 1992 and being filed during the period from January 1, 1992 through December 31, 1992. It further appearing to the court that the case files listed above have sufficient historical and other value to warrant their continued preservation by the United States of America within the meaning of 44 U.S.C. 397(a)(1); and that the Archivist of the United States has approved the deposit of such case files in the Federal Records Center at Kansas City, Missouri; IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED: 1.That the clerk of this court is authorized and directed to transfer the above designated case files to the custody of the National Archives and Records Service, for deposit in the Federal Records Center, Region 6, of the General Services Administration at Kansas City, Missouri. 2.That the above designated case files shall be available for public inspection, except for statutory and administrative restrictions, and upon request by the clerk or a judge of this court they may be withdrawn either temporarily or permanently for use in this court. 3.That the National Archives and Records Service of the General Services Administration may process the designated case files eliminating the types of papers specified as disposable under general court schedules approved by the Judicial Conference of the United States and the Congress of the United States of America. 4.That specifically excluded from this order are all computerized docket records and indexes pertaining to the designated case files, and said computerized docket records and indexes are to be retained in the office of the clerk of the court.
