Job Purpose: 

To plan the serving details for banquets, receptions, and other social functions.

Job Responsibilities: 

  1. Requisitions additional help as required by banquet schedule.
  2. Directs setting up of tables, and decorations.

  11. Relieves banquet manager and operates the department.

•Takes calls from commercial/residential Superintendents for equipment or material orders and coordinates delivery
•Takes residential/commercial orders -- Omaha and Lincoln
•Create Purchase Orders for materials for residential jobs as needed
•Maintains Shipping and Receiving files -- packing slips, PO's, material requisitions, spreadsheets and job folders. Performs all data entry of spread sheets for documentation
•Writes credit memos for returns/PO's for purchases
•Locate and track freight deliveries
•Coordinates deliveries from vendors
•Verify loads for accuracy before they leave in the morning
•Order equipment as requested
•Ensures pending deliveries are pulled and ready for verification and loading
•Coordinates clean up and maintenance of tools, trucks, building, parking lot, trash removal.
•Coordinates the random clean up of property, weed control, snow removal, checking received orders for accuracy and lock up procedures
•Coordinates job pick ups
•Matches PO's to packing slips to verify orders and receivables
•Turns all paperwork into the appropriate departments daily
•Keep department manager informed of all issues

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
•Must be able to work independently and without regular supervision.
•Must be able to learn and effectively use, operate, and repair machinery and tools.
•Must be able to read a tape measure.
•Must be able to safely operate a forklift by OSHA Standards.
•Must be able to read, write, and speak English
•Must have good public relations skills.

To set up all meetings, meal functions and audio visual equipment in accordance with hotel and company policies. To facilitate all customer requests in a timely and courteous manner.

Job Responsibilities: 

  1. Completes all work assignments and follows all instructions directed by supervisor or shift leader.
  2. Ensures all water, amenities, audio-visual and breaks are in room at least 15 minutes prior to start of meeting.
  3. Complies with all customer needs for additional equipment and supplies and conveys the additional charge to the guest. Notifies supervisor to add to the guest check.
  4. Displays good customer relation skills. Takes initiative to greet guests in a friendly manner.
  5. Sets up and cleans all meeting and meal function rooms in accordance with company and hotel specifications.
  6. Freshens all meeting rooms during meal breaks by replacing ashtrays, changing cloths if necessary, refilling candy jars, replacing water glasses, refilling water pitchers, and removing garbage from meeting areas and break tables.
  7. Assists with meal service and breakdown as needed.  Assists in getting banquet guest checks signed and turned in to the front office for proper posting.
  8. Follows all energy conservation guidelines as well as safety procedures.
