IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF NEBRASKA IN THE MATTER OF ) CHIEF JUDGE OF THE BANKRUPTCY ) COURT ) )GENERAL ORDER 94- 16 ) The United States District Court for the District of Nebraska has determined that it is in the best interest of the Court to set a specific term of service for the chief bankruptcy judge. Title 28, U.s.C. 154(b) directs the Court to designate one judge to serve as chief judge of the bankruptcy court having more than one bankruptcy judge. The Court has concluded that the term of the chief bankruptcy judge should be the same as that of the chief judge of the district court. This term is set at seven (7) years by 28 U.S.C. 136(a)(3)(A). Therefore, IT IS ORDERED that the chief bankruptcy judge shall serve for a term of seven (7) years, which term may be renewed for an additional seven (7) years by the chief judge of the district court with the consent of the active district court judges. DATED this 5th day of July, 1994. BY THE COURT: (signed) LYLE E STROM, Chief Judge United States District Court
