IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF NEBRASKA IN THE MATTER OF ) ORDER OF ADOPTION OF THE ) NEBRASKA LOCAL BANKRUPTCY ) RULES )GENERAL ORDER 92- 04 ) ) The bankruptcy judges of this district request a committee of the bankruptcy bar to submit to the Bankruptcy Court recommendations with regard to the adoption of new local rules. the committee finished its work in December of 1991 and submitted proposed Nebraska local bankruptcy rules to the Court. The judges reviewed and modified the committee submission and held hearings, upon notice, in North Platte, Nebraska, on January 29, 1992; in Lincoln, Nebraska, on February 6, 1992; and in Omaha, Nebraska, on February 7, 1992. At each hearing, attorneys appeared and made comments upon the rules. Following the hearings, the bankruptcy judges reviewed the comments and made minor modifications to the rules which were the subject of the hearings. On October 2, 1992, Chief Judge Timothy J. Mahoney, on behalf of the bankruptcy judges, submitted the proposed final draft of new local rules to the District Court judges for consideration and approval pursuant to Fed. Bankr. R. 9029. Contemporaneously therewith, the modified rules were distributed to the members of the committee for further comment and review. In addition to the review by the rules committee, the bankruptcy section of the Nebraska State Bar Association met on October 29, 1992, to review and comment upon the rules. the bankruptcy judges were present during the comment session. The bankruptcy judges now recommend to the United States District Court that the final draft of the rules submitted to the United States District Court on October 2, 1992, should be adopted by the District Court pursuant to Fed. Bankr. R. 9029. It is, therefore, ordered that the proposed local rules as submitted to the District Court on October 2, 1992, are adopted.
