08/07/2008 Luta and Ed developed a list of courtroom technology competencies for courtroom deputies. This list will be used to develop corresponding documentation and training. LKP
10/09/2008 Scheduled Basic AV training for courtroom deputies during the week of October 27. Objectives are to identify common multimedia file extensions and describe what type of media they represent (audio, video, or still images), identify common multimedia cables and connections and describe what type of media they carry (audio, video), connect a video device such as a VCR or DVD player to a television and play a tape/DVD,connect a document camera to a VCR and a television and play a tape, then display a document, describe the difference between a CD, DVD-Data and DVD-Video and how to play each type. 03/04/2009 Held follow-up A/V training for Omaha courtroom deputies. LKP
07/10/2009 Courtroom technology manuals have been delivered to all courtrooms except Special Proceedings. These manuals contain information for the Courtroom Deputy on how to setup and operate the equipment. LKP
07/10/2009 Scheduled Attorney forums for Sept 10 in North Platte, Sept 17 in Lincoln, and Sept 24 in Omaha. These forums will each contain a one-hour presentation on courtroom technology. Specific topics will be decided after interviews with judges and attorneys to determine training needs. LKP
08/03/2009 Finished the Special Proceedings courtroom manual. All other manuals are to be reviewed by the courtroom deputy with changes given to Luta by August 14. Once the final manuals are placed in the courtrooms it will be the responsibility of the courtroom deputy to keep them updated. LKP
